Three players to consider to win your 2020 fantasy playoffs

Congratulations if you made your fantasy playoff leagues this year! Your ability to maneuver the waiver wire and draft well has paid off. I have highlighted three players who started the season as relative unknowns, to players who have surpassed expectations and will help win your league! Two of the players are owned in less than 70% of Yahoo! Leagues, while Tonyan has become the most efficient tight end this season.

JD McKissic (69% rostered in Yahoo)

A nice revelation out of Washington, McKissic has been a solid flex play behind Gibson’s breakout season. McKissic has been averaging 6.5 targets a game this season, second only to Alvin Kamara’s 7.5 targets a game. Up to this point, McKissic has been averaging 10.5 points per game in PPR leagues, which gives him flex appeal. On pace for 104 targets this year, McKissic has 3 separate games where he has been targeted 10+ times since WFT’s week 8 bye. Averaging nine targets per game since week 8, McKissic’s role could grow if Antonio Gibson misses any more time. He also has a favorable playoff schedule, where he faces Seattle in week 15, who are giving up 24 points per game to running backs. Seattle’s defense gives up 7.6 targets a game, which is where McKissic has accumulated most of his fantasy points this season. His week 16 matchup is against Carolina, who are giving up 25.5 fantasy points per game to running backs. They are also allowing 7.5 targets a game to running backs this season.

Logan Thomas (62% rostered in Yahoo)

Logan Thomas is starting to blossom in Scott Turner’s Air Coryell offense in Washington. Thomas has six separate games this season where he accumulated 10+ fantasy points in PPR leagues. The opportunity for Thomas to succeed is there. Thomas has been on the field for 94% of WFT’s snaps this season, averaging 60 snaps a game. He is having a break out season, and it should continue into the fantasy playoffs, where he faces Seattle and Carolina. Carolina has given up 14 red zone targets this year, where Thomas has had success, with 12 receptions in the red zone to date. As long as Alex Smith is healthy, Thomas should have no problem exploiting two struggling secondaries.

Robert Tonyan (85% rostered in Yahoo)

Robert Tonyan is enjoying a breakout season under the tutelage of Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur in Green Bay. For the fourth straight week, Tonyan has seen five targets thrown his way. Notwithstanding his limited targets, Tonyan has scored 10+ fantasy points in 8 weeks in PPR leagues. Since week 11, he has scored at least 13 points in each contest in said format. Tonyan is averaging over 12.8 points a game this year, third among tight ends. Going forward, he has a favorable playoff matchup, versus Carolina week 15 and Tennessee week 16. Carolina is allowing 13.5 targets a game to tight ends, while empowering tight ends to average 14 fantasy points a game. In week 16, he faced a Titans defense that has allowed 20 red zone targets to tight ends, while surrendering just under 14 points a game to tight ends.
