2020 NBA Atlantic Division Preview

Candidates expected to outperform their ADP

The 2020-2021 NBA season is upon us again. Here at Kyle Clancy Live, we want to make sure that you don’t pick players early in the draft that don’t live up to expectations. Fortunately for you, we have two players from the Atlantic Division that should robustly outperform their draft stock.

Who are the fantasy basketball sleepers?

Kemba Walker – BOS

  • ADP: 81
  • Projected Finish: Top 45

In an offseason where Boston lost Gordon Hayward, Enes Kanter, and Vincent Poisier, one would expect Kemba Walker to potentially have a larger role in Brad Stevens offense. Though he projects to put up similar fantasy numbers, despite those loses, to last year, Walker should see plenty of opportunity this upcoming season. A career scoring average of 20+ points a game, he is also a player that will fill that stat sheet with rebounds and assists. He should continue to see around 30 minutes a game, while providing a boost to your field goal percentage. Walker is an undervalued guard who will be a steal around the 80th pick of the draft.

RJ Barret – NYK

  • ADP: 98
  • Projected Finish: Top 85

Coming off a stellar rookie season, R.J. Barret averaged 14.3 points a game over 30 minutes. Currently Barret projects to finish as a top 85 player come season’s end. If he can improve on his field goal percentage, there’s no reason why he can’t finish the season as a top 75 fantasy player. The opportunity for him to produce will be there, and the new coaching staff seems unwilling to play Frank Ntilikina or rookie Immanuel Quickley. Right now, Barret is an ideal play in points leagues, where shooting percentage is not taken into account. There is a lot to like with Barret at his current draft stock, and will be interesting to see his role with the new coaching staff as the season develops.

Other Players to Consider:

  • Julius Randle (NYK) – ADP: 66, Projected Finish: Top 65
  • Caris Levert (BKN) – ADP: 90, Projected Finish: Top 85
  • Tobias Harris (PHI) – ADP: 50, Projected Finish: Top 45
